CIRCULAR STRATEGY POLARBRÖD
Polarbröd, one of Sweden’s largest bakeries, had defined circular economy as a bold ambition in its new corporate compass. To act on this, the company needed a clear resource-focused baseline, a circular strategy, and a credible, business-oriented way to measure and follow up progress.
APPROACH
We facilitated cross-functional workshops at both factories and with the management team to map the current state. Together with a dedicated task force, we developed a circular strategy with goals for key focus areas. Along the way, we acted as advisors, brought in external experts, and arranged field trips to build knowledge and insights. We also evaluated existing measurement tools – including the new ISO standard for circularity – and created a tailored methodology aligned with EU sustainability reporting requirements.
RESULT
The work resulted in a stronger leadership understanding, a concrete strategy with time-bound goals, and a company-specific tool for measuring and steering circular progress. Polarbröd gained a clear definition of what circularity means for their business, where the risks and opportunities lie, and how to manage the journey ahead.
